We often find that many of our clients haven’t yet had the opportunity to discover Twittter, one of the fastest growing platforms of social media and one of the best venues for reaching a demographic.
What is Twitter? Twitter is essentially like the news feed on Facebook or the ticker at the bottom of CNN. You can find specific people to follow and they will update you with their thoughts, comments, or news. The space in which they can report this is limited to 140 characters. This is more commonly known as microblogging.
Who is on Twitter? There are about 27 million users on Twitter. The social networking site slightly leans a little bit more towards women. Women make up approximately 53% of the site’s participants. It is estimated that 58% of the site has an average household income of $60,000 or higher. Also know, it’s not for kids: 89% of Twitter users are over 17.
Why Should I Tweet? Unlike Facebook, Twitter is not just to connect with people that you know. Facebook now generates quite a bit of red tape to protect the privacy of it’s users. Twitter has no red tape at all, leaving you available to easily find people in your area that match your target demographic or who are interested in aesthetic services.
